Neurodivergent Family Support
Compassionate, developmentally-informed support for families raising neurodivergent children.
Parenting a neurodivergent child? Me too. I’m here with you.
Whether your child is autistic, gifted, has ADHD, sensory processing challenges, or other support needs—you might be feeling overwhelmed, unsure how to help, or simply craving more connection and ease in your day-to-day life.
I know you want your child to thrive. We can make the journey smoother together. We’ll explore what a strong support system can look like for your family, right now.
Here in the Kootenays, resources can be limited—that’s exactly why Growing en famille was created: to offer meaningful, accessible support for families navigating parenting and neurodivergence.
What I Offer
My work is developmentally respectful and neurodiversity-affirming. I draw from conscious parenting, my certifications in Behavioural Intervention, ADHD, Autism, Interoceptive Awareness, and Executive Functioning—as well as my lived experience as the parent of an autistic child.
Depending on your access to funding, some of my services may be eligible under “Behavioural Intervention.” Please feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help clarify.
What Makes My Approach Different
I don’t focus on changing behaviours. I help you understand what’s underneath them.
A key to supporting neurodivergent children is teaching them to tune into their bodies. This awareness of internal sensations is the foundation of emotional regulation. Without it, even the most empathic words are meaningless—because regulation begins with the body, not with logic or language.
Why Parent Support Matters
Parents of children with emotional and self-regulation challenges often find themselves caught in a cycle of reactivity. As a child moves from a calm state into dysregulation, it can easily trigger a reactive response in the caregiver. When adults meet that dysregulation with their own, the situation can quickly escalate into emotional outbursts.
In these moments, what children need isn’t discipline or correction—it’s co-regulation, empathy, and support.
That’s why I focus on helping you first: giving you the tools and confidence to stay grounded, and showing you how to respond with connection instead of control. Together, we build strategies that work when your child is calm and actually able to learn.
I also offer one-on-one sessions with children. Learning emotional regulation tools from different adults, in varied contexts, and through repetition is a powerful way to build lasting skills.
Together, we work on:
Strengthening your connection with your child
Creating more calm and structure at home
Responding to dysregulation with confidence and care
Building emotional safety for the whole family
You're not alone in this. With the right tools, support, and perspective, you can create a home that feels grounded, connected, and emotionally safe—for everyone in your family.

Child Support
(In collaboration with you or directly with your child)
Support your child’s social-emotional development using evidence-based strategies rooted in a relational, developmental approach.
Foster mindful self-regulation, emotional expression, and problem-solving through play, connection, and an interoception-informed lens.
Work in collaboration with other professionals — such as OTs, SLPs, and counselors — to ensure consistency and alignment in your child’s support plan.
*Although I completed training as a Behavioural Interventionist, I intentionally refer to this part of my work as Neurodivergent Family Support — because my approach is not behavioural in nature. I support the whole family system, and honors neurodivergent ways of being with respect and understanding.
How it Works?
Initial Consultation
We’ll meet to get a clear picture of your goals, your child’s needs, and the current challenges you’re facing.
If you’re already working with a team of specialists, you’re welcome to invite me to join a meeting. This helps us identify how I can support your child’s goals and determine which parts of their plan I can help implement.
Support Plan
I can design a personalized support plan that fits your family’s rhythm, values, and capacity — or, if your child already has a plan in place, I can focus on implementing the social-emotional components in collaboration with your team.
Ongoing Support
We’ll work together with warmth, humor, and flexibility — to create real, lasting shifts in how you and your child connect, communicate, and grow.
Sessions can take place in my downtown Nelson office (starting Fall 2025), in your home, or out in the community — We can mix it up based on what feels most helpful.
We’ll tailor the frequency and structure of support to meet your needs and circumstances, including what’s possible through available funding.
